About this collection

This collection contains archival documentation of craft conferences, exhibitions, fairs, and other events sponsored or hosted by the American Craft Council in the 1980s and 1990s. Digitization of materials in this collection was made possible by the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA).

Included are materials documenting the ACC's awards programs (initiated in 1975); the first St. Paul craft show (1987); and the first Atlanta Craft show (1990); as well as exhibitions held at the American Craft Museum (previously known as the Museum of Contemporary Crafts and today known as the Museum of Arts and Design).

The collection also contains images and documentation related to the regional chapters of the ACC and from the archive of the World Crafts Council.
