stuffed cloth; wood; artist's technique: "Harris builds the whole piece from the framework out by adding layer on layer of stuffing shaped to form by carefully stitched patches of burlap or muslin. The final choice is the patterned fabric and its application for the chair covering or clothing. This final layer is also put on in pieces and the lines of stitching joining them are like drawing on the surface. The floral pattern of the fabric is often further embellished with painted additions."
