Ainar Axelsson, staff designer with Guldsmeds Aktiebolaget (GAB) at Gridsgaten, Stockholm. Born in 1920, he studied at the Advanced Swedish State School of Arts and Crafts; he also attended the Naas Arts and Crafts College. He has taught at the City Trade School and the Craft School in Stockholm. In 1949 he won first prize in a design competition for the best office building facade. Many Swedish churches own liturgical vessels in silver designed by him.
