Oswald Haerdtl, distinguished architect, designer and educator, was born in Vienna in 1899 and died in 1959. He attended the Imperial School for Applied Arts where he later became a professor. He was president of the Autrian Werkstatte and editor of "Formgbung in Industrie und Handwerk". As the head of his own architectural firm, Haerdtl produced many private, public and industrial buildings. He was also well known for his designs for furniture and lighting fixtures, interiors, glassware and silverware.
The original object was scanned as a TIFF file on a Nikon Coolscan 4000 film scanner at approximately 4000 pixels on the long dimension. A 300 ppi JPEG file limited to 1024 pixels on the long dimension was then added to the CONTENTdm database.
