Arthur J. Pulos, head of the Department of Industrial Design at Syracuse University, was born in 1917. He was educated at the Carnegie Institute of Technology and the University of Oregon; he has taught at various American universities. Pulos is the owner of Pulos Design Associates of Syracuse. In 1953 he was consultant to Colonial Williamsburg on the restoration of an 18th-century silversmith's shop.
