Helmut Warneke was born in Bremen in 1927 and studied at the State Art School of Bremen and the Technical School for Precious Metal crafts of Schwabisch Graund. He was designer for Koch and Berfled in Bremen. In 1958 he qualified as a master silversmith and has been working as a free-lance designer since that year.
