Hand built and fired three times in an electric kiln: bisque, glaze at cone 04 (1920 F), and post-reduced. Under glazes were sprayed onto the piece to achieve bright colors. During the final firing, at approximately 1200 F, the piece was pulled from the kiln and placed into a metal trash can filled with combustible material (shredded bank documents).
The original object was scanned as a TIFF file on a Nikon Coolscan 4000 film scanner at approximately 4000 pixels on the long dimension. A 300 ppi JPEG file limited to 1024 pixels on the long dimension was then added to the CONTENTdm database.
