Handbuilt from slabs and cut into two pieces to be fired separately. The bottom piece was glazed, raku fired, and post reduced in a nest of newsprint. The top piece was thinly glazed, sprayed with underglazes, and simply fired in an oxidation atmosphere. The two pieces were then epoxied together in their original form.
The original object was scanned as a TIFF file on a Nikon Coolscan 4000 film scanner at approximately 4000 pixels on the long dimension. A 300 ppi JPEG file limited to 1024 pixels on the long dimension was then added to the CONTENTdm database.
