Paper was formed Nagashizuki style for the first layer. Collage was placed between this and a second layer formed Western style on a very large mold. Color variation was a combination of the modulation of different dyed pulps from the Nagashizuki technique with use of a plastic/rubber stencil on top of a newly-couched sheet and spraying water at the sheet to create a type of lace paper. Paper was board dried on Formica.
The original object was scanned as a TIFF file on a Nikon Coolscan 4000 film scanner at approximately 4000 pixels on the long dimension. A 300 ppi JPEG file limited to 1024 pixels on the long dimension was then added to the CONTENTdm database.
