The back section was formed from Hollander-beaten linen pulp couched against a bamboo screen. The screen was rolled and squeezed to emboss the sheet. The front section is a collage of a cotton linter sheet, linen paper with a cotton tatting inclusion, and fragments of Indian cotton paper made for a special mandala edition. The surface was later painted. All papers were loft dried and are unsized.
The original object was scanned as a TIFF file on a Nikon Coolscan 4000 film scanner at approximately 4000 pixels on the long dimension. A 300 ppi JPEG file limited to 1024 pixels on the long dimension was then added to the CONTENTdm database.
