The paper was made from pulp which was a mixture of cotton hald stuff, jute half stuff, and natural linen cordage pulps, all prepared in a Hollander. It was internally sized with Hercon 40 and was formed traditional Western style on a 18” x 12” mold with a contact paper stencil. The paper was press-packed and dried in spurs of 16 sheets before being assembled into the work.
The original object was scanned as a TIFF file on a Nikon Coolscan 4000 film scanner at approximately 4000 pixels on the long dimension. A 300 ppi JPEG file limited to 1024 pixels on the long dimension was then added to the CONTENTdm database.
