Exhibition committee members Lois Long and Gerald Boyce who oversaw the assembly of entries prior to jurying the "North Central States" exhibition. The woven piece was an entry by Blache Hutto, Indiana weaver. Lois Long, President of the Indiana Artist-Craftsmen Incorporated, volunteered to work on the exhibition committee. Professor Gerald Boyce, founder of Indiana Artist-Craftsmen Incorporated, was acting ACC Exhibition Chairman in charge of unpacking operations. Boyce was Professor Emeritus at the University of Indianapolis, and chair of the Fine Arts department. The "Craftsmen of the North Central States" was a regional exhibition showcasing American craftsmen from the North Central Regional Assembly of the American Craftsmen Council. The exhibition was on display at the John Herron Museum of Art, Indianapolis, Indiana in August, 1962. Representing the North Central Assembly were craftsmen from Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota, and Wisconsin.
