The American Craftsmen's Council sponsored the ninth annual open competition-exhibition for craftsmen aged 30 years old and younger. "Young Americans 1962" included the work of 280 craftsmen from 36 states. The exhibition was on display from May 25 until September 2, 1962 at the Museum of Contemporary Crafts in New York City. The show was then circulated by the American Federation of Arts.
