"Contemporary Craftsmen of the Far West" was on display at the Museum of Contemporary Crafts from September 22 - November 5, 1961. It was first in a series of exhibitions showcasing the work of contemporary American craftsmanship. The exhibit included over 300 works by 238 craftsmen. It was developed through cooperation between the regional assemblies of craftsmen and trustees of the Northwest and Southwest ACC. The exhibit represented work of craftsmen from Alaska, Arizona, California, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, and Washington.
