The "Craftsmen of the Eastern States" was part of a series of exhibitions showcasing American craftsmen from across the country. The exhibit included approximately 300 pieces selected from two regional exhibitions of the Northeast and Southeast Regional Assemblies of the American Craftsmen Council. The "Craftsmen of the Eastern States" was on display at the Museum of Contemporary Craftsmen from November 22, 1963 to January 5, 1964. The preview show was held November 21, 1963. Representing the Northeast Assembly were craftsmen from the District of Columbia, and ten states: Connecticut, Delaware, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, and Rhode Island. Representing the craftsmen from Southeast Assembly were Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, West Virginia. Mississippi did not have any representative pieces included in the exhibit.
