Environment by John Fischer where fresh turf surrounds the viewer on all sides, inducing security through prior conditioning. Turf surrounds three sides of the environment, with light coming through loose pieces of grass from above. Image produced in association with the exhibition "Contemplation Environments", on view from January 16 through March 18, 1970 at the Museum of Contemporary Crafts in New York City. The exhibition was developed from artists' submissions for personal meditative spaces. Architect Gamal El Zoghby organized the sixteen selected concepts into an integrated plan covering the gallery areas where viewers were allowed to experience each work.
