The sixth installment of filming from the ACC's Arrowmont School Workshops, June 1-8, 1971. Filming begins at a meal break and reception, with participants discussing their respective workshops and personal work. Then, in Michael Cardew's workshop, students experiment with Kaowool. The additive gives clay a gritty texture and allows it to be fired while still wet. While students discuss their opinions of the additive with the filmmaker, Cardew simultaneously demonstrates the construction of a stemware goblet and water pitcher. In the final minutes of the video, the finished burlap sculptures from Walter Nottingham's class are filmed while the studio is empty.
